3H FUND UK HOLIDAY GRANT PROGRAMME

3H Fund awards grants to disabled people and carers, on low income, to help them to organise a break for themselves in the UK.

The grant programme is funded by the generous donations of charitable trusts, businesses and individuals. A lot of funding we receive is for specific geographical areas. If we are unable to help you because we do not have the funding for your area please check on our website or telephone our office on tel no: 01892 860207

  • Grants are generally awarded between £200 – £400.
  • Funds are restricted and grants are awarded at the discretion of the Trustees.

WHO MAY APPLY

  • You are mentally or physically disabled (no age restriction).
  • You have permanent legal residency in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales.
  • You have a low household income.

HOW TO APPLY

Complete and return the application form together with evidence (photocopies are accepted) of:

Disability – this should be a letter from a professional outside of the family, eg GP, Health Worker, Social Worker, Hospital etc. It must state your name and disability.

Low Income – Income Support & Child Tax Credits (if you receive both), Working Tax Credits, ESA, Pension Credit, Income Based Jobseeker’s Allowance. DLA will not be accepted as it is not means tested.

Bank Statement – may be considered if you do not receive any of the above but have a low household income. It must be a copy of a recent full month’s statement and show your name and address.

Please return your application form by the deadline in your letter or we will cancel your application. If you have a problem meeting the deadline, please let us know.

AFTER YOU HAVE APPLIED

  • Generally you will be contacted by us within six weeks of applying but times can vary considerably depending upon the volume of applications we are dealing with.
  • If you are awarded a grant, please let us know that you wish to accept it. Grants promised may be accepted by telephone, email or letter.
    You are then able to arrange your holiday. When you know the details please let us know.
  • It is the responsibility of the applicant to remind 3H Fund when payment becomes due. Please note that payment is made direct to the holiday company by cheque. We cannot issue cheques in favour of applicants. (For private rentals please provide evidence of ownership.)
  • Grants are for the accommodation part of a holiday.
  • Only one grant may be awarded to an individual/family within a grant programme year. If you are awarded a grant you will not be eligible to re-apply the following year.
  • Terms and Conditions – These can be found on the reverse of your covering letter and must be agreed to.

3H Fund awards grants to carers, on low income, to help them to organise a break for themselves in the UK.

  • You are the main carer (no age restriction).
  • The carer must go on a break without the person they care for; therefore they have respite from their caring role.
  • You have permanent legal residency in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales.
  • You have a low household income.

HOW TO APPLY

Complete and return the application form together with evidence (photocopies are accepted) of:

Main Carer – this should be a letter from a professional outside of the family, e.g. GP, Health Worker, Social Worker, Hospital etc. It must state your name and that you are the main carer.
