TeensOut News

Young Carers Enjoyed Woodland Venture’s Forest School and Outside Adventures!

Our TeensOut programme enables existing organisations to continue their good work supporting teenagers who may be socially isolated due to their disability or their caring duties.

“We are so grateful to the 3H Fund for awarding a grant towards our programme of live virtual workshops – enabling us to bring some of the fun of our holiday schemes to children and young people isolating at home during the pandemic.

With your help, we’ve been able to put together a schedule of daily workshops (Monday to Friday) with activities including science, cookery, animal handling, music, magic and relaxation, helping children and young people with disabilities and additional needs to have fun, try new things and socialise with their peers.” – Extratime

“We’ve received lots of positive feedback from families and other stakeholders”

Parent Carer: “My daughter loved Tuesday. She saw you on Zoom and then we saw the animals. There were so many people and faces. She loves all that, it was really super!”

Parent Carer: “My son is slowly coming back to his old self. We really value the Zoom calls and he is getting a lot out of them. He has a calendar up on the wall and the Zooms are giving him structure and he is calmer.”
