The Oscar Foundation Supports 1st TeensOut for Young Carers

The Oscar Foundation, a registered charity who believe that life is about opportunity – the opportunity for the young to experience the basic joys of life, were pleased to sponsor the first TeenOut day organised by 3H.

The carers – aged between twelve and sixteen had a wonderful day at Hindleap Warren on Ashdown Forest, taking part in a range of activities from abseiling to archery, crate stacking, rock-climbing……… in a purpose-built activity centre run by superb qualified staff.

This first ‘adventure’ with young carers was such a success that many more are planned for the future. Charity Manager, Lynne Loving says, ‘We are greatly encouraged by how the first TeensOut day went for young carers.  When put alongside our help for older carers with a days ‘pampering’ at Burrswood Health and Wellbeing retreat on the Kent and Sussex borders, it means that we are extending the help offered to carers, who need a break every bit as much as those who they care for.’
